The P series, a brand new generation of shop roasters
The new P05 III and the P12 III are the latest additions to the PROBAT shop roaster series and the first two of a whole new generation of shop roasters. They are equipped with a number of advanced technical features, such as an innovative intelligent control system with extended functionality. Multiple additional design options make the P05 and the P12 unique for every roastery.
The P25 II completes the current range of the PROBAT P series. Altogether there are three different models available, with batch sizes between one and 25 kilograms and a roasting capacity of 17 to 85 kilograms of roast coffee per hour.
The PROBATINO is specially developed for smaller businesses. With its recommended batch size of one kilogram, it is perfect for producing, testing and perfecting small quantities of roasted coffee.
P III series roasters is available with even more sensors than the Probatone II series. In addition to existing sensors, like product and roasting exhaust gas thermocouples, Probat has added a pressure gauge for the roasting exhaust air, thermocouples for coffee ambient temperature, supply air temperature, and cooling exhaust air temperature. These added features give roasters maximum information to control and reproduce their roast automatically.
The P III series, like its predecessor models, uses specially developed shovel mechanisms to move the beans in the drum at a controlled, set rotation speed. Inside the roaster, the beans move along precisely defined paths. A controlled flow of hot air roasts the beans via convection with minimum drum contact. This results in a highly consistent roast and uniform bean pattern.
The new P III series also includes improved thermal insulation to minimise heat loss and maintain the energy inside the roaster. Airflow is controlled better and the front casting of the drum is now partially double-walled to reduce hot surfaces.
A wide range of variants with proven, advanced technology. The PROBAT shop roasters use specially developed shovel mechanisms in all machine sizes to move the beans in the drum. This guarantees the best-possible mixing at a set rotation speed. Inside the roaster, the beans move along precisely defined paths. The outer appearance of the new P05 III and P12 III picks up the iconic PROBAT design while topping it off with further creative highlights and customization options to make it even more unique. The familiar silhouette of the roasting machine was consistently enhanced, now adding that extra fine touch to what was already classy before.
The new series also embraces design elements taken from the new Probat sample roaster. Users also have the option to customise the colours of the drum body, hood, and cast-iron front.
In terms of ergonomics, the design integrates improvements in usability, energy efficiency and ergonomics. The new model is easier to access and clean, especially inside the insulation chamber, where the roasting drum is installed. The lever of the drum outlet flap has been moved to the left side in all models.
Probat is committed to the shop roaster market because of the growing specialty coffee industry, where there’s a thirst for knowledge sharing. This new range is best suited to markets that enjoy sharing recipes, what models they’re using, and want to transfer knowledge.
