The name ‘Ama’ is inspired by the Japanese divers or “sea women” who dive to collect pearls from the ocean. Most of these divers are women, and so the Ama Project logo represents them, in symbology of this work: searching for pearls in the natural environment.
This exclusive set features four distinct pearls:
Akoya
Akoya is named after the classic Japanese Akoya pearls. The coffee associated with this pearl tends to be balanced, floral, and delicately sweet, often showcasing notes such as jasmine, chamomile, and honey.
Lilac
Lilac draws its name from the soft violet hue of rare lilac-toned pearls. In the cup, Lilac typically delivers a fragrant and expressive profile, marked by florals such as rose and hibiscus, along with refined acidity and light fruit tones. It is one of the most aromatic and ethereal pearls in the project.
Ruby
Ruby is inspired by the deep red glow of ruby-colored pearls. The corresponding coffee usually features more vibrant and expressive fruit notes, with deeper sweetness and a more dynamic profile than the lighter pearls.
Blush
Blush takes its meaning from soft pink pearls. A coffee profile that is sweet, soft, and lightly fruity. Blush often presents layers of delicate stone fruit, gentle florals, and a smooth, balanced sweetness, making it one of the most graceful expressions within the collection.
