Primrose Coffee Exporter was founded in 2010 G.C by Mr. Abreham Mengiste and Mrs. Meseret Workneh, who each have over 20 years of experience in the Ethiopian green coffee export business.
Project Origin began their partnership with Primrose in 2015. Meseret and Abreham oversee several washing stations throughout Ethiopia, including in the Guji area. They manage cherry purchasing from local farmers, processing operations, green grading, milling, and exporting.
Innovation & Collaboration
“Project Origin began working with Meseret to introduce Supernatural and carbonic maceration processing techniques in 2017, and we continue to collaborate on these lots to this day, learning and adapting every season. Additionally, we are in constant communication with the Primrose team about their traditionally processed lots to ensure we understand how weather, economy, and logistics affect the cup profiles we receive.”
It is because of this long-term relationship and great communication that both teams share immense trust. Project Origin knows what to expect from Ethiopia, and Primrose knows what to expect from them.
Processing Leadership
Primrose was among the first in Ethiopia to experiment with carbonic maceration, anaerobic fermentation, and super-natural processing beginning in 2017.
Export Scale
The company annually exports between 2,400 to 2,700 tons of specialty and premium coffee to markets across Asia, the USA, Europe, and beyond.
