Family Heritage & Ownership
The Mierisch family's coffee journey began more than a century ago. Bruno Mierisch Boettiger, a German geologist, was granted land in Nicaragua's highlands as compensation for unpaid wages. In 1908, he planted his first coffee trees, establishing the foundation of the family's coffee-growing legacy.
Today, the company is led by members of the third, fourth, and fifth generations:
• Dr. Erwin R. Mierisch (third generation) oversees agronomical decisions and farm management.
• Eleane Mierisch (General Director until her passing in 2023), together with Erwin Jr. and Steve Mierisch (fourth generation), helped transform the family business into a recognized specialty coffee producer.
• Erwin III (“Wingo”), representing the fifth generation, is involved in quality control, client relations, and processing innovation.
